The opening titles for The Kick were an ambitious undertaking, combining a mix of different technologies including chroma keying, off speed frame rates, CG and a Matrix-esque 24 camera, 360 degree, virtual motion rig.
Starting with only a rough storyboard, I was responsible for realising the concept created by Jason Felmingham. This entailed creating all the 3D graphics, camera matching the 360 shots, creating background plates, and compositing everything together to create the finished product. Taking the different types of footage and combining them with the CG components was an exciting challenge and satisfying to see come together.
